Chris Deacon

Legal strategist and healthcare reform advocate; author of The Great American Healthcare Heist

Christin Deacon is a nationally respected voice on healthcare reform, procurement strategy, and government accountability. A former Deputy Attorney General and Special Assistant Counsel in the Christie Administration, Christin spent years practicing law before transitioning to public finance, where she ultimately served as a senior official in the New Jersey Department of the Treasury. There, she led procurement and policy for the State Health Benefits and School Employees’ Health Benefits Programs — covering more than 820,000 public sector lives and representing one of the largest health plans in the country.

Christin left state service in 2021 when her moral compass pointed her in a different direction. Frustrated by a system rigged against patients, taxpayers, and public servants, she has since dedicated herself to speaking hard truths — on stages, in legislatures, in the halls of Congress and in her latest book, The Great American Healthcare Heist — about the healthcare status quo and the structural forces that keep it broken.

Her advocacy is grounded not only in deep policy knowledge and firsthand experience, but in a deep personal drive: as a mother of three (Coleman, 14; Emer, 9; and Collins, 7) and dog mom to Twitch, Christin is fiercely committed to building a better future for the next generation.
